Sodium Feldspar Demand Growth

In recent years, with the continuous advancement of technology, the demand for the glass manufacturing industry has been increasing. In this expanding market, Sodium Feldspar, as an important material, is gradually becoming the focus of the industry. A recent new study shows that the application of albite in the glass industry is expected to be further expanded.

Albite is a mineral widely found on the earth’s surface. Due to its special physical and chemical properties, it is commonly used in glass, ceramics, building materials and other fields. In glass manufacturing, albite is widely used in the manufacture of low-melting glass, which has a low melting point and is easy to process into various shapes, so it is commonly used in the manufacture of glassware, lighting fixtures, electronic equipment, solar cells and other products.

Due to the large differences in the quality, distribution and reserves of soda feldspar deposits, the price of albite in the market fluctuates wildly, affecting the glass industry’s production costs and benefits. In order to solve this problem, many scientists and enterprises are actively studying how to improve the utilization efficiency of albite and reduce production costs.

Recently, the scientific research team of a large domestic mineral resource company published a paper entitled “The New Application of Soda feldspar for Fiber Glass”. In this paper, through the in-depth study of the physical and chemical properties of albite, a new utilization method of albite is proposed, which can reduce energy consumption and production costs in the production process, and improve the utilization efficiency of albite.

According to the results of the paper, the research team found that albite can be combined with other materials to form a new type of glass material. This material not only has the characteristics of low melting point and easy processing of traditional albite glass but also has the advantages of high hardness, good wear resistance and strong impact resistance of other materials.
