Manganese Nitride is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula MnN. It is a black crystalline material with hardness and brittleness resembling diamond. It has a high density and a melting point of approximately 2000°C. Methods for preparing Manganese Nitride

Direct Nitridation Method: Involves the reaction of metallic manganese with nitrogen or ammonia gas under high-temperature and high-pressure conditions to produce manganese nitride.

Nitride Conversion Method: Involves reacting manganese compounds with nitrides to obtain manganese nitride. For example, reacting manganese oxide and aluminum nitride in an inert atmosphere can yield manganese nitride.

Production Steps of Manganese Nitride

• Preheat manganese-containing raw materials with a particle size of 0.3mm in a preheater, reaching temperatures of 400-750°C. The raw materials are in a suspended fluidized state in a high-temperature airflow opposite to the direction of travel, with a weak reducing nitrogen atmosphere.
• Manganese-containing raw materials enter the reactor for nitridation, with a solid-to-gas ratio of 0.7-1.2 kg/Nm3, producing high-temperature manganese nitride. The raw materials are in a suspended fluidized state in a weak reducing nitrogen atmosphere.
• Nitrided manganese-containing powder is separated through a cyclone separator, followed by cooling below 120°C in a solid cooler with isolated air before discharge.
